Basketball Year 7 – 10 Leisure Centre Competition

Welcome to Basketball at KingsWay School. We offer two different basketball leagues for those in Years 7-10.
Our teams can enter a local social competition run at the Leisure Centre, run by Harbour Basketball OR in the Junior Basketball League (JBL) run by Coast Basketball. Both are local competitions and have categories for beginners and those who have been playing for longer.

Please note all players MUST wear a mouthguard or are not allowed to take the court.

Term Three & Four

(SEMESTER TWO)

For Semester Two (Terms 3 & 4) the only Basketball league on offer is held at Stanmore Bay Leisure Centre however run by North Harbour Basketball (this is brand new)

Year 7 & 8 start on Monday 28 July and runs for 13 weeks

School holidays are on the 22^ndSeptember-5^th October.

It will end on the 17^th November. (No games on September 1^st due to Aims and 27^th October due to Labour day)

Year 9 & 10 start on Friday 1 August and runs for 13 weeks

School holidays are on the 22^ndSeptember-5^th October.

It will end on the 7 November. (No game on 27^th October due to Labour day)

• Intermediate Boys Leagues: Monday 3:30 pm – 9:00 pm
• Intermediate Girls Leagues: Monday 3:30 pm – 9:00 pm
• Year 9-11 Secondary Friday: 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
• Registrations Close – 9am Thursday 10th July

All Auckland Council facilities running children’s basketball/miniball are moving to align with Basketball New Zealand rulings regarding the use of mouth guards being worn by all players under 19 years old. You can purchase from The Warehouse, Pharmacies or Sports Shops. Mouth guards need to be moulded before the first use, so please do this at least a day before your child’s first game.

Fees and Registrations

North Harbour Basketball, have now taken over the running of the Leisure Centre basketball league. They require us to register our teams through Game Day, which is their official registration platform. This means ALL parents will now need to complete a two-step registration process. Both registrations need to be filled in before your child’s registration is deemed as complete.
