Football Year 9-13
KingsWay has both competitive and recreational teams catering to premier players and those who enjoy the social aspects of a good football game.
- Boys’ competition games are played on Saturday mornings except for the 1st XI team, which can also play fixtures on Friday evenings.
- Girls’ games, regardless of grade, are played on Wednesdays after school.
- Both boys and girls teams play home and away on alternate weeks.
1st Teams Culture Event – Wednesday 2nd April 6.30pm – 8.30pm. All 1st team Players and Coaches to attend.
Football Skills Sessions Term 4, 2025
We are excited to offer a series of Football Skills Sessions led by James Debenham and Luka Brown. These sessions are designed for players who are currently part of the Boys’ 1st XI Football squad, as well as those who aspire to represent the team in the future.
Who Can Join
- Open to students in Years 8–11 (2025)
- Maximum of 25 players (if interest exceeds this, a trial or selection process may be required)

- Day & Time: Friday afternoons, 3:30 – 5:00pm
- Facilities Used: COLA, Wharenui, Field, and Weights Room

Football-Specific Information for Years 9-13
Trials & Muster
Trials for both premier boys and girls teams take place in Term 1. The number of teams entered is determined by the number of students registering to play. Musters for recreational grades are held based on numbers with the aim of getting as many students playing football as possible.
Once team selection is finalised, you will be invited to join your child’s team on Team Reach by your team Manager. All information for the season will be put on this Team Reach App.
Dates for 2025 Trials
All trials will commence at 3:30pm and finish at 5:00pm
Other team trials will notified of trial dates in early March.
All players in Year 9-11 need to attend the following sessions to ensure they are included in a team for 2025.
Muster Dates
Year 11 Boys: Thursday 13 March – 3:30pm
Year 10 Boys: Thursday 6 March – 3:30pm
Year 9 Boys: Thursday 6 March – 3:30pm
The 1st XI trial dates for girls and boys are:

Fees and Registrations for Football
Fees
All players will pay the ‘all other grade’ fees until the 1st XI teams have been trialed and named.
1st XI Boys: TBC $214 (referee fee & Knock Out Cup included) Pay $105 and if you are selected for the 1st XI a further $109 is required within 7 days of the team being named. There will also be a $100 Tournament deposit to be paid by 1st April
1st XI Girls: TBC $168 (School van fee included) Pay $121 and if you are selected for the 1st XI a further $47 is required within 7 days of the team being named.) There will also be a $100 Tournament deposit to be paid by 1st April
All Other Grades (Boys): TBC $105
All Other Grades (Girls): TBC $121(transport fee included)
Kingsway School has a user pays policy for all sports. This means ALL fees must be paid prior to commencement of competition or play, unless an AP has been arranged with the sports department. Please e-mail sport@kingstatic.allteams.dev if you would like to set up such a payment.
The football charge includes:
- College Sport Charge, Referee Fee (1st XI),
- Kingsway charges: administration fee, Knock Out Cup fee, Transport for Cup Games, Equipment, Uniform & Teacher in Charge of Sport costs.

Registrations for Year 9 – 13 Teams close February 14, 2025.
*Late registrations may incur a $10 late administration fee.
