Netball Year 10-13
Senior Netball is affiliated under North Harbour Netball and games will be played at their courts at the Barfoot & Thompson Netball Courts, 44 Northcote Rd, Northcote on Saturdays. Trials are held on the school grounds early in Term 1 and competition games commence at the beginning of Term 2.

Senior Netball Development Initiative Participants will gain access to specialised coaching, fitness training, as well as an all round training to prepare for Senior 1 trials. This programme is NOT designed for those wanting to improve their general netball skills. This opportunity is open only to players who aspire to be part of Senior 1 and are committed to putting in the work to get there. There will be a lot of fitness expectations for players to do in their own time. Please note: participation in this training squad is optional and not a requirement for trialling for the Senior 1 or Senior 2 teams in 2026. Who can join:
Session details:
Trials and Team Selection:Week 3 or Week 4, TBC, Term 1, 2026: Trials for Senior Squad Cost for Pre trial training: $30 ( Term 4, 2025, pre trial camp day and training Week 1 & 2, 2026). Any food for camps or extra team building extras may have extra costs. This opportunity is open only to players who aspire to be part of Senior 1 and are committed to putting in the work. – REGISTER HERE. Senior 1 & 2 training squad after trials is a seperate season cost, which includes the season fee. Please note that if your child makes the Senior 1 team they will be required to attend UNISS Tournament in Hamilton in Sept 2026, which will be approx $800 – $950 |

If you are in Year 13 in 2026 and would like to make up a Year 13 ONLY netball team, then please grab some friends (need 9 players) and email Sport@kingstatic.allteams.dev
Years 10–13
Players in Year 10-13 are welcome to either:

Form a team with friends, or request to be placed in the same team as a friend (both friends must submit this request). Please note: if you choose this option, you will be placed in the team that reflects the lowest graded player in your group. For example, if you are selected for Senior 4 but your friend is placed in Senior 7, you will both be placed in Senior 7. This ensures fairness in grading and team balance while still allowing friends to play together.
All Teams:
Games are played on Saturday Mornings at North Harbour courts, between 8:00 am-1:00pm.
- Senior 1 – 9 teams play 13 weeks – Saturday 2nd May – Saturday 15th August Finals (Saver Day 22 August) 2026 TBC
- No Play: 11th July and 18th July (School Holidays) TBC
- Draws – Netball North Harbour Website
N.B. All game times should be checked the night prior to the game to ensure there has been no change. - Trial Dates: Monday 16th February & Thursday 19th February 2026 (TBC) 3.30pm – to finish (approx 5.30pm – 6pm) on the Astro. N.B Times may run later.
- All communication to parents is done through the Team Reach App once teams are finalised.

Fees and Registrations for Years 10-13
Fees
If your child’s registration is not completed by the deadline, a $10 late fee may be charged, and we cannot guarantee placement in a team.
Fees for Year 10 – 13: $240
Fees for Senior 1 & 2 Squad – $260
KingsWay School has a user pays policy for all sports. This means ALL fees must be paid before the commencement of competition or play unless an Automatic Payment has been arranged with the sports department. Please email if you would like to set up such a payment. The netball charge includes:
- HBC/NH Netball Centre Charge, NNZ Player Levy (per player fee), Time Request cost, Umpire Fees.
- KingsWay charges: administration fee, equipment, coach voucher, uniform, Sporty registration, NZSSSC levy and Teacher in Charge (TIC) of sports costs.

Netball Specific Information
Netball is only cancelled in extreme weather conditions, i.e. thunder and lightning.
Cancellations for Year 1- Year 9 will be made by 12pm on the day of play for midweek games and posted out on the Netball North Harbour (NNH) website and on the NNH Facebook page.
Once the school receives the information we will ask managers to put it out on the Teams Reach APP. Under no circumstances can parents ring the netball centre directly to enquire about cancellations. All correspondence with the Centre should be done through the school.
Cancellations for Year 10 – Year 13 Saturday Games
Games are very rarely cancelled for Senior Netball, except due to severe weather conditions example Thunder and Lightning. Please check out the Netball North Harbour website or the NNH Facebook page
Forfeits: Teams do not forfeit unless agreed by the TIC or Sports Dept.
If your team cannot play on the designated game time, it is imperative that the team coach/manager contacts the TIC & KWS Sports Dept to organise the cancellations with the Netball centre and the affected opposition teams by no later 12:00 on game day. It is very important to do this through the formal channels to ensure the communication is circulated to the correct parties.
- There is a $50 per team NNH forfeit fee, if a team cancels and does not inform NH Netball, the opposition school & the KWS sports dept before12 midday or for Saturday games the day prior to game day.
- Rules state a 7 aside team must take the court if they have 5 players or more.
- Teams may not forfeit due to weather as netball is a winter sport.
- Players may be borrowed from a team in the grade below or equal but not from a team above. e.g a Year 5/2 team may not borrow a player from the Year 6/1 team.
- Players may not be borrowed across competitions. i.e. Primary, MS (Year 7 & 8), Year 9 and Senior Y10 – 13 are separate competitions and players may not cross.
- Bottom teams in each age group from Y7-13 may borrow from the team directly above. e.g. Year 7/3 may borrow for Year 7/2.
- Out of courtesy please request player’s through the coach and manager.
